Seasonal part-time to full-time (25-45 hours/week)
Aphrodite Oysters is an oyster farm located in South Thomaston, Maine; operating from April into December of each year. Aphrodite Oysters is looking to hire a part-time to full-time Farm Hand for the upcoming 2024 season. Prior experience is most definitely appreciated but we are willing to train someone who is willing and determined to learn.
Duties
- Duties will include general farm site work, including:
- Arranging, cleaning, and sorting oysters, as well as rotation on stock onsite
- Cleaning, sorting, harvesting, and preparing oysters for market
- Delivering Oysters
Requirements
- Operation of a motor boat and experience working on the water is preferred
- Previous aquaculture, agriculture, or commercial fishing experience is preferred
- Personal transportation and a valid driver's license required
- Must be able to lift 50 pds
- Able to work in adverse weather conditions and maintain a positive attitude
- Depenability and reliability
- Ability to communicate farm data and work details clearly and accurately
