Tri-State Staffing Contract Position Aquaculture Inspection Contractor Maine Department of Marine Resources Job Announcement
JUNE-OCTOBER (FLEXIBLE) 2026
The Department of Marine Resources (DMR) Aquaculture Compliance Program annually inspects all aquaculture sites along the coast of Maine. Fieldwork is done by boat.
Tri-State Staffing is seeking to fill one full-time seasonal position from approximately June to October to complete aquaculture inspections and author compliance reports that will contract at the Maine Department of Marine Resources. Start/end dates and work hours are flexible. This seasonal staff position will be based out of the Boothbay Harbor facility. Fieldwork includes travel to aquaculture site locations anywhere from Eliot to Lubec, Maine. This position will also complete office-related tasks with some remote work possible.
Work is conducted Monday through Friday. Fieldwork may include early mornings or late evenings. Flexibility of work hours during the season is required. Department vehicles will be provided to complete all fieldwork, though meeting locations for travel may vary. Some weeks may include fieldwork while some weeks may only require office related tasks.
Specific duties include:
- Authoring compliance reports using Word, ArcGIS Pro, and Survey123
- Traveling by boat to aquaculture sites and assisting as boat crew
- Collecting data in the field
Required:
- A valid driver’s license
- Must be detail oriented, organized, have a positive attitude, and desire to split work time between office tasks and on the water fieldwork
Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- General understanding of aquaculture in Maine
- General technical report writing skills
- Small vessel marine boat skills
